Businesses are such an important part of community. They make many of the supply decisions, they talk with everyone and they have lots of resources and energy. They will make great allies.

It's easy for people to forget that local businesses employ local people and play very important roles in every community. Don't take your local businesses for granted. 9Carrots provides a way of supporting them and encouraging them to engage even more with the communities they serve - and begin to tackle the big issues of climate change and resource depletion.

There are also huge opportunities for communities to create the businesses that they want in their area. Community shops run on co-operative lines in many villages and smaller communities are excellent models.

It's easy to get 9carrots going. We even have a starter pack thing in development (reserve one here). This area has great hints and covers things like:

For example, what happens when a business has installed everything it can?

The not-for-profit business structure, how that deals with insurance cover, liability and legal things. You will find our Articles of Association here and details of our business model and revenue streams.

Also, 9carrots has MOUs (Memorandum Of Understanding) with other parties for implementing the scheme in other countries.

Get involved in the development of our web site. If there's a new feature you think would be really useful, put it on the to-do list and discuss it with everyone.
